Birse Kirk and Hall

The Trust has recently purchased historic Birse Kirk (pictured right) and Birse Church Hall. BCT's bid for the Kirk was made up of funds from BCT's own reserves and donations to the Trust to help specifically with the purchase, in particular the large donation through the Ecumenical Trust for Birse Kirk (ETBK) of funds raised through the 'Save Historic Birse Kirk' appeal.

BCT has drawn up and agreed a long term lease of the Kirk to ETBK to enable them to manage and maintain the Kirk in ways that conserve and enhance its important spiritual and heritage values. BCT has also drawn up a management agreement between BCT and Birse Area Community Association (BACA) to manage Birse Community Hall, which is available for hire for meetings, small conferences and parties.

The successful purchase of Birse Kirk and Birse Community Hall by BCT on behalf of the community is an historic local achievement.
