Along with several other sites of cultural significance, BCT manages the unique nineteenth century water powered wood-working mills that still survive and continue to operate in Finzean.

BCT manages nearly 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) of forests and woodlands on behalf of the community in Birse parish.

As part of this, the Trust manages land and buildings and a wide range of other projects on behalf of the local community.
