BCT leases the management of its commercial forestry to its wholly owned subsidiary, Birse Trading Company, or “BTCo”. BTCo conducts all forestry operations in accordance with long-term forest plans approved by the Forestry Commission. BTCo has an independent board of directors, one of whom is usually a BCT Trustee. This ensures close liaison between the BCT Trustees and the BTCo directors.
