Bucket Mill

The Bucket Mill is a Grade A Listed Historic Site and unique in Britain with its specialised water powered machinery for manufacturing wooden pails or buckets.

The Mill was built by Peter Brown in the 1850s and operated by three generations of Browns. The last miller, Stan Moyes, took over the operation of the Mill in the 1970s following the death of Willie Brown. BCT became the owner and manager of the Mill in 1999 when a former Finzean Water Mills Trust was wound up.

BCT carried out a major programme of repairs and restoration work to the Mill after it became owner and has worked with Stan Moyes to carry out on-going maintenance and repairs to the Mill.
